OK fast forward, ran the first can of 1x spray and just ran out at the end with a bit of gray on the under side.  If I had done it right there was enough paint but I got off track.

Any how I wnt back and bought another can, but this time I west for a 2x.  This is a two part spray paint that you burst an internal catalyst insid ethe can, shake good ans spray. Gnarly chemicals but no more babies for me.  This was all in all a good move as the catalyzed 2 part paint hardened up solid.  The first white coat felt sort of weak,  This stuff was hard.  Well there it is.
 Wet sand the surface with 600 grit, take of the shine, good for decal and painting dots.

 Dots start with masking punched through with 3/8 hole.
Humbrol paints there in the back ground.

Well I cut off the X.  I bought the rest of the decals, Serotta set off off ebay:  This guy was really generaout, gave me double of everything...or I probably did not read the instructions.  Takes finesse but it gels after some practice.

MAsking tape onto wax paper.
Punch holes.
Pull tape off wax paper and onto frame.
Paint with Humbrol paints, 2.50 a can.
Awesome paint, I have one jar from 1978 that is still perfect.
Went an did Old San Marcos and on the way down was thinking about having to make an acquaintance with tubular tires in the near future.

Time for 75 milers.

And some climbing too.

OK, been putting in miles, not enough but better than nothing.  Climbed Gibraltar but unconvincingly.  The rims arrived from Italy and the spokes and nipples and tubulars with mastik.  I built up two wheels and need to do a bit of true up work. Deraileurs are done, front and rear.  Shifters are new so no problem there.  Levers are missing hoods as I bought the wrong type.  I need C record type. I also need to rig the clamp as it was missing some parts. I have several items to rebuild:  Seat Post needs clean up.  Pedals should be checked out, a good pair of C-records.  Now the cranks have a corrosion point I am worried about.  I hope I don't have to drop more cash on that.  I keep trying to reason I wont pull that over the peak sprint.  In 1987 or there about.   I was riding campy record cranks with 180mm.  My friend Dean and I had just come over from Steven's Creek reservoir and were sprinting towards Gar...

After shaping the braze on part I removed the old part rusted ones and prepped the area.  Then brazed on new parts, 3x.  It went pretty easy.  Disassembled record derailleur for rebuild.  Frame ready for first coat of primer.  This went on pretty well and the paint was just th eright amount, 1 can.
