Betty's got a lot a rust and needs a reboot. Here goes nothin. Hope to make a race in April.
Stripped the bike clear of parts, stripped the paint and sanded away. The frame is a 1984, Nova Special bought at Kennedy's Cycles, Pollard Rd, Cupertino, CA. Got hit in 1988 smashing rear triangle. Keith Bontrager repaired it in Soquel only needing to replace down tubes. Had it in Hawaii for years and this worm hole rust started to form. Wanted to paint it poka dot over white since 2000. Lets see what happens.
The forks have original paint from Serotta and it was a bear to get off.
Bought some new parts. Aim for Campy Record. Need to build some wheels with the campy hubs I bought at Saratoga Bikes on 9...that place was awesome, drulling on the GIOS Torino frame in the window every couple of days. I left one wheel in Hawaii and thinking of trying sewups.
